What could be better than a vacation? Spending time with friends or family and experiencing a completely different, perhaps even exotic, environment. But you can also spend a vacation very well on your own. Especially people who like to be completely by themselves now and then.

Vacation alone - what are the advantages?

If you plan your vacation entirely on your own, you naturally have the advantage from the start that you can shape your plans personally, without having to make big compromises. If you travel with your family, for example, you have to meet several people's needs at once. If your partner wants to go shopping every other morning, or the kids want action around the clock, fair middle paths of course have to be found. So one wish or another on vacation automatically falls by the wayside. Yet a vacation is supposed to be a time of rest and individual expression. A welcome change from stressful everyday life. Even though vacations with the family can be great, simply disappearing on vacation by yourself has its charms too.

Vacation alone - less hassle, lower costs

When it comes to your wallet, too, a vacation alone is usually much cheaper. Not just for room and board, but also for accommodation, activities (parties, museums, etc.) and shopping. Travel costs also come out much lower, especially if you travel by bus, train or plane. Group discounts are all well and good, but going solo is probably still the cheapest. You also have to carry far less luggage and generally only think of half as much. Of course the basics have to be right and you should think of everything important. In this respect, though, that applies to only one person instead of two or more. That leaves even more room in your head for other ideas and plans!

Vacation alone - be spontaneous and soak it all in!

Especially as a carefree single, a vacation alone is a great way to make new acquaintances. Whether it's just a hot vacation fling or landing something else along the way, why not? Vacation time is also spontaneous time, a time of enjoyment. Who knows, something long-term could even come of it. Especially if the newly discovered flame also comes from back home and a future together could possibly be planned.

Taking a vacation on your own has quite a few perks. It doesn't always have to be in the usual company!
